New homes in Bracknell benefit from public park

Taylor Wimpey has unveiled a brand new park and woodland area at its The Parks development of property for sale in Bracknell.
Scores of Taylor Wimpey homebuyers joined the party on Saturday as the leading homebuilder hosted a special celebration to mark the official opening of a brand new public park at its The Parks development of houses for sale in Bracknell.
More than 100 residents enjoyed food and drinks at the family barbecue event held by Taylor Wimpey at The Parks, its popular development of property in Bracknell located in the grounds of the former RAF Staff College, where the first phase of the new parkland area is now complete.
The Mayor of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Ian Leake, was guest of honour at the celebration, cutting the ribbon to allow members of the public into the park for the first time.
The new parkland will cover 19 hectares – an area larger than six football pitches – and is the first of a number of public open spaces to be opened alongside the new houses to buy in Bracknell at The Parks.
Andrew Sturla, Regional Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We have been working very hard to create this magnificent green space and woodlands for all our residents and the wider community to enjoy, and are absolutely delighted with the result!
“Our aim at The Parks is to create a sustainable community providing plenty of opportunities for people to enjoy open spaces, recreation and healthy exercise on their doorsteps, and the opening of this first parkland area is the first step towards the completion of this wonderful green development.
“Saturday’s barbecue was a fantastic way to celebrate this milestone occasion and a great time was had by all. I would very much like to thank the Mayor of Bracknell Forest and everyone who attended for making it such a successful and enjoyable day.”
The Parks is being delivered by Taylor Wimpey in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency, and the housebuilder is investing considerable sums in creating parkland, woodland, and community and sports facilities to complement the new homes.
The development comprises a combination of one and two-bedroom apartments through to two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, and with more than 360 properties already built or currently under construction, it is on course for completion in 2015.
The Parks lies less than a mile from Bracknell town centre, and the area is served by a number of schools with excellent reputations.
For commuters, Bracknell railway station is a mile from the development, offering regular services to London’s Waterloo and Paddington stations in 60 minutes, and to Reading in just 20 minutes. The M3 and the M4 are easily accessible thanks to the location’s excellent road links.
Homes currently available for sale at The Parks include four-bedroom homes from only £349,995, while a selection of one and two-bedroom apartments, plus houses in a range of sizes, will be included in the ongoing development.
Further information about the new homes is available by visiting the Sales Information Centre, located off Hawk Lane, Bracknell Forest, Bracknell, and open daily from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
