Lessons in wildlife with Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire

A group of lucky schoolchildren have been learning more about local wildlife thanks to a generous gift from Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire.

The national housebuilder paid for pupils at Badger Hill Primary School to enjoy a detailed talk and bird box building session this month, as well as awarding them a year’s membership to The Tees Valley Wildlife Trust.

Pupils spent a happy morning putting up the finished boxes around the prestigious Hunley Manor development, in Brotton, and say they’re looking forward to watching birds flourish there.

People and wildlife manager at Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, Steve Ashton, explained: “The school children really enjoyed learning about their local wildlife and they always find creating bird boxes to be great fun.

“It is also a positive step to be able to work with a local business such as Taylor Wimpey to help continue the conservation of local wildlife.”

Situated close to the North Yorkshire moors and historic coastal towns of Whitby and Saltburn-by-the-Sea a short drive away, the development is well placed to enjoy some of the county’s most stunning countryside.

Within a short drive of the A174, A171 and A66 leading to the A19, it also offers excellent transport links for anyone needing to commute.

Both Middlesbrough and Whitby can be reached by car in around 30 minutes and nearby Saltburn-by-the-Sea train station delivers services to Middlesbrough in 25 minutes and Darlington in around an hour.
