Crest adds support to Bristol Harbour Festival

The company responsible for developing Harbourside in Bristol’s city centre has put its support behind this year’s Harbour Festival having signed up as a member of the Harbour Festival Sponsor Group.
Crest Nicholson Regeneration, which has transformed the Canon’s Marsh area into a thriving community where people can live, work and relax is now one of the proud sponsors of the event that attracts half a million people during the festival’s duration.
Susan Young, sales and marketing director for Crest Nicholson said: “We’re delighted to be a member sponsor for this year’s event. Crest Nicholson has played a major role in the transformation of the floating harbour and Harbourside has really opened up the area where people can make the most of the water side location.
“I’m sure visitors to the city for the festival will be amazed at the changes that have taken place and enjoy strolling around the development to see for themselves why this has been labelled as one of the best examples of inner-city regeneration in Europe.”
Taking place from 29 to 31 July this year’s event marks the 40th anniversary of the festival.
To mark this occasion, the festival will include an additional week from Monday 25 - Friday 29 July, during which, the harbour will be buzzing with water based activities including strolling entertainment, music on boats, boat races, sea shanties, folk music, workshops, wildlife and ferry tours and the exciting 'Build a Boat' project. In a nod to tradition, there will also be a rowing tug of war, an event that featured at the first ever festival in 1971.
As one of the country’s largest mixed use developments, Harbourside has transformed the 16-acre site which included a former gas-works, with nearly 700 homes, leisure facilities and 400,000 sq ft of offices.
With bars and restaurants, a health club, casino and hotel its inspirational design has created an atmosphere of security and well being along the edge of the city’s historic floating harbour.
The latest phase at the Harbourside, Beacon House, comprises 47, one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Spread over seven floors 50% of this phase has already been sold. And with every property in the phase benefiting from water views those thinking of buying will be hard pushed to find anything comparable across the whole of Bristol.
Prices currently start from £249,950.
