Cobra releases Astra Mk1 and Mk2 lowering springs

Cobra Astra Spring Kit

Leading suspension manufacturer Cobra has released details of its spring kits for the rare Mk1 and Mk2 Vauxhall Astra. The wide range covers all variants of both classic Vauxhall models including the GTE variants - and are usually available from stock.

Lowering the car by approximately 30mm, The Cobra kit contains 4 springs that have been computer matched at the factory to work perfectly with the OEM dampers. Not only does the lower centre of gravity drastically improve the car’s handling, but being closer to terra firma, any recipient Astra also gains a far more aggressive stance.

As a European manufacturer, Cobra has invested considerably in its surface treatments, endowing the Astra kits with a tough exterior that should survive many salted British winters. The springs are pre-fatigued to eliminate sagging before being shot-peened for durability and toughness. Featuring fully ground ends, the springs are then protected by an anti corrosion treatment and thick powder coating. This attention to detail and level of over-engineering goes a long way to explain Cobra’s impressive 5 year warranty and exceptional performance.

With any original springs now doubtless past their best, the Cobra upgrades make total sense on every level. A great way to replace a tired component, as well as dramatically improving the car’s road manners and point-to-point performance. Prices start at £110.00 + VAT.
