Portishead development collects further industry award

Following its recent win at the Considerate Constructors awards, The Moorings, Crest Nicholson’s latest waterside development in Port Marine, Portishead, has attracted the attention yet again of industry judges, by collecting a highly commended and regional award at the National House Building Council (NHBC) Health and Safety awards.
From 66 commended winners, Shaune Hicks, Senior Site Manager at The Moorings, collected the ‘highly commended’ trophy in the Best Multi Story Building Site category and then went onto be awarded the Multi Storey Regional trophy for the second consecutive year – he is the only site manager to have achieved such success.
The awards celebrate the outstanding health and safety management throughout construction sites across the UK. They offer builders the opportunity to share best practice, showcase excellence and celebrate the good work of their Health & Safety teams. Each site was inspected by NHBC health and safety advisors at least three times over the judging period and assessed against a pre-set list of judging criteria.
Shaune Hicks, Senior Site Manager at The Moorings, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have won two more awards for our Port Marine development. Being recognised by the NHBC is an honour and is a fantastic reward for the effort and hard work that is put into making the site a safe place to work, which is something we take very seriously.”
Simon Mantle, NHBC Group Health and Safety Policy Manager, said: “The standard of entries this year has once again been outstanding; this coupled with an increased desire to be recognised and enter the awards, our judging system has remained rigorous and challenging, and all sites entered are worthy of note, not simply the winners! Thank you for continuing to make these awards a success.”
Laura Osborne, Sales Manager for Crest Nicholson, said: “We’re over the moon that The Moorings has been awarded yet another industry accolade and want to thank Shaune and the team for all their hard work. The development has proven to be particularly popular with buyers looking for stylish waterside properties, which is testament to the hard work put in by all involved to help the company produce the high quality homes for which Crest Nicholson is renowned.”
The Moorings comprises nine luxury four bedroom villas, each of which comes with their own 35 foot mooring at the beautiful Marina. Five (55%) of these stylish waterside properties, which are ideal for families and buyers who like to entertain, have already been snapped up.
The development also consists of an eclectic seven storey building, which includes 31 contemporary two bedroom apartments, many of which have spectacular waterside views. The apartments offer homebuyers open plan living areas with the added luxury of a private balcony or terrace to enjoy relaxing by the water and taking in the stunning views.
The Moorings has everything that homebuyers might desire, being perfectly situated to take advantage of all the new bars and restaurants that Port Marine has to offer, as well as places to sail, fish, swim or try out the local water sports on offer, from windsurfing to kayaking. Nature lovers can enjoy the nearby wildlife reserves and take in the fresh air and tranquillity at the nearby Mendip Hills. Port Marine is also located near to the M5 and M4, making it an ideal choice for commuters, as well as good schools nearby for those with young families.
Apartments are available from £159,950, with the villas available from £590,000. For more information, please visit the on-site Sales and Marketing suite, which is open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.
