Home buyers are not the only ones who are able to find a new home at Taylor Wimpey Exeter’s Trevenson Meadows development in Trencreek, Newquay.

The leading house builder is making sure there is room for all creatures great and small at the site which borders onto a ‘Conservation Corridor’, an area of land which includes a wooded stream and ecologically important hedgerows.

House martin and swift nest boxes are to be installed on a number of the houses and general purpose bird boxes will be placed around the mature trees along the edge of the development. A number of bat boxes will also be installed to provide a home for the pipistrelle and brown long-eared bat population.

Janine Davey, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “Whilst we are very excited about the new development, we are taking steps to ensure the local wildlife, including badgers, bats and barn owls, are disturbed as little as possible and left to flourish.

“In addition to the nest boxes we are also constructing a pond at the edge of the development which will be filled with native aquatic plants to encourage wildlife to quickly establish there and a series of hedgerows and tress will be planted around the development border providing a luscious green habitat for all kinds of animals. I’m sure anyone moving to Trevenson Meadows will be thrilled to have such an exciting array of wildlife on their doorstep and will look forward to seeing it thrive as much as we will.”

When built Trevenson Meadows will offer a collection of two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom homes. Local residents can also benefit from additional discounts on selected plots making buying a new home even more affordable. The properties at the development will benefit from high efficiency boilers, high performance glazing systems, insulation and low flush toilet cisterns. 10% of the homes will be provided with solar panelling to ensure the development is as sustainable as possible.

Situated in an excellent location in the popular coastal town of Newquay there are numerous amenities on the doorstep including supermarkets, bars and restaurants as well attractions such as Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. For walkers and cyclists, the tranquillity of Bodmin Moor is nearby to enjoy or, for the more adventurous, there is the opportunity to try water sports in the ‘surfing capital of Britain.’

For commuters, Newquay has good road, rail and air links with access to the A30, A38 and M5 as well as Newquay Railway Station and Newquay and Cornwall Airport.

There is currently a collection of two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom homes available with prices starting from £134,995. For more information visit: taylorwimpey.co.uk
