Homebuyer’s double delight with Lagan Homes

Outstanding quality and customer care meant Lori Wilson-Blakely had no qualms about moving from one Lagan home to another.
Lori, who bought a Lagan home in Milton Keynes before moving to Bedford, explained: “I was looking to move for my son’s schooling and after asking around and talking to people Lagan Homes were recommended to me.
“Unfortunately I couldn’t find the size and type of house I wanted in Newport Pagnell and the surrounding villages but Lagan had a development at Broughton Gate, which was the right side of Milton Keynes for the school bus route.”
When her son Ross, now 13 and a pupil at Bedford School, was offered a place in the upper school Lori finally decided to buy the home she wanted in Bedford. This area was not only very convenient for the school but still offered the must-have rural feel of the country.
“I came across Lagan again because a friend was moving and was attracted to Kingswood Park in Great Denham instantly. I loved the Georgian style of the homes but also had the convenience of a modern interior. They have been built to the same high standard of finishing and quality workmanship I had experienced with Lagan Homes in Milton Keynes,” Lori commented.
“I looked at the house on the Saturday, took Ross to view it on the Sunday and arranged a mortgage on the Monday. Once all the finances were agreed our old home was put on the market via Lagan’s Assisted Move scheme on a Thursday and was sold by Saturday morning! It was all very quick but everything was just right. ”
Under Assisted Move, Lagan asks two local estate agents to value a potential purchaser’s property, so that the customer is sure they are marketing at the right price and then Lagan deals with the agents direct and pays the agents’ selling fees. It leaves the customer free to plan how their new Lagan home will look and get ready to move.
“The girls in the sales office were brilliant and so helpful, even to the point of having a key and letting in various workmen so that I didn’t need to take time off work. They were absolutely wonderful,” Lori added.
Having moved to a more spacious home, mother and son have more personal space, a larger garden and a garage – plus a bathroom on all three floors.
“I have turned one of the bedrooms into a sitting room for Ross, where he can have his computer, do his homework and play his Xbox so that all of the gadgetry is away from the bedroom. And we still have a spare room,” said Lori.
Where Lori and Ross have moved to is within the loop of the River Great Ouse, close to the sought-after village of Great Denham and enjoys a rural outlook. Just two miles west of Bedford town centre it boasts its own 200-acre country park and is bordered on one side by Great Denham Golf Course.
The wider area, known as Biddenham Vale, will also include play areas, sports fields and cycles ways with plans for new schools and community facilities.
Kingswood Park is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
