The alloy artisans at Forge Motorsport love their retro metal – and this latest product release is a tip of the hat to a true ‘80s performance icon, The Saab 900 Turbo 16 valve.

With 175 bhp in standard trim, rising up to a heady 185 bhp on the Carlsson models, the sturdy Swede is no slouch, even by today’s standards. With a bombproof in-line 4 engine, they’re a superb basis for tuning and respond well to even the most minor tweaks. This latest dump valve kit from Forge contains everything needed for an easy OEM-quality fitment and the valve will work well on both standard and modified examples. On the standard set-up, air is compressed by the turbo, and heated in the process, before being re-compressed, and re-heated. The Forge Dump Valve vents this compressed gas quickly to atmosphere, all around its circumference, allowing the turbo to freewheel, providing quicker throttle response and greater drivability.

Using the hugely respected FMDV004 vent-to-atmosphere valve as its base, this comprehensive kit also contains Forge’s own silicone hoses, vacuum lines, ‘T’ piece and all stainless steel clips. In fact, everything needed for ‘plug and play’ convenience. Fitment should take just a few minutes, and once you have factored in the entirely reasonable £120.88 + VAT price kit, it becomes a performance essential.
