Petplan, the UK’s favourite pet insurance provider, is once again returning to Blackpool Championship Dog Show at Ballam Road, which runs from 24th-26th June, to host a Petplan Junior Stakes Qualifier.

Now in its 17th year, the Petplan Junior Stakes has established itself as a popular UK dog showing competition for dogs and bitches, aged between 6 and 18 months old, and after hosting four qualifying shows across the country, the Petplan Junior Stakes culminate in a final show that will see a total of 28 dogs vying for the title.

After being selected to host a Petplan Junior Stakes qualifier, the Blackpool Championship Dog Show received a £5,000 investment from Petplan to help with running costs, marketing and advertising, and the dog show is also being heavily promoted to Petplan’s customer. The additional exposure aims to help increase public awareness and create excitement within the breeder and dog showing community.

With its large public attendance over the years, Blackpool Championship Dog Show has become known as one of the largest championship dog shows on the west coast of England and a local attraction, enjoying great support from the local council.

Blackpool and District Canine Society Chairman Steve Hall, said that he was absolutely delighted to be selected, once again, to host the Petplan Junior Stakes.

“This is a fantastic event for the whole community and hosting the Petplan Junior Stakes at the event is a great opportunity for us to work alongside a household name such as Petplan and continue to build on our already successful event,” says Steve.

Petplan’s Communications Manager Carl Stephens commented, “We are delighted to be working with the Bath Canine Society this year. I have no doubt this year’s Petplan Junior Stakes will be bigger and better than ever.”

As part of the Petplan Junior Stakes qualifying series Petplan is also giving dog lovers in the Blackpool region the chance to win a VIP weekend for two to the Amsterdam Winner Dog Show. Taking place in November 2011, the prize includes return flights, three nights accommodation, admission to the show, dinner and drinks.
