Homebuyers in North Manchester don’t have to settle for second best to buy a home that they can afford.

Redrow may be offering customers the chance to save more than £33,000 off the initial price of a brand new home in Moston – but the quality of the properties knocks spots of others in the area.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), comments: “Research by the Halifax* indicates that the majority of non-homeowners want to buy but think they won’t be able to because they haven’t got a large deposit. Those who have managed to save around £4,000 may think they can only afford an older, second hand property that’s in need of lots of work. However, they could be pleasantly surprised to discover that our stylish homes at Hanson Gardens are within their reach.”

Built with modern family living in mind, Redrow’s properties in Moston are in line with Manchester City’s ‘home for life’ specification, designed to adapt to a purchaser’s changing needs over time.

Well insulated, with central heating and double glazing as standard they’re easy to manage and efficient to run, as Lesley explains: “Buyers may think that they have to compromise on style to be able to afford a new home, but at Hanson Gardens that’s not the case. Our skilled team of craftsmen have invested a high degree of workmanship outside and in to ensure that all of the properties are built to the same quality standards.”

She added: “When you buy an older, second hand property it’s likely to need lots of work doing to it such as fitting a new kitchen or bathroom, whereas our homes enjoy top notch fixtures and fittings throughout.”

With the help of Redrow’s ‘easi:buy’ scheme purchasers can experience the joy of owning a brand new home but pay up to 25% less at the outset.

Administered by Manchester City Council, ‘easi:buy’ enables customers to defer a quarter of the initial purchase price for up to 10 years or until they have more funds available.

It means they will only need a mortgage for a maximum of 75% of the property’s value and should have access to some of the better mortgage interest rates; usually reserved for those with large deposits or substantial equity in an existing home.

Two-bedroom ‘Kentmere’ style homes at Hanson Gardens are available with ‘easi:buy’ for as little as £78,746, instead of the market price of £104,995. The valuable help is also available on family homes and reduces the initial cost of a four-bedroom ‘Thirlmere’ from £132,995 to just £99,746.

The Moston area has undergone a major transformation in recent years with investments in amenities including schools, libraries, shops and public transport.

Potential purchasers can explore the area and watch an easy to follow video guide to ‘easi:buy’ online at: redrow.tv
