Bupa launches ‘Health Finder' app
Leading international healthcare group, Bupa, has launched a free iPhone app giving people easy access to quality health information wherever they are.
With seven out of ten people in the UK now using the internet to find health information, Bupa's new ‘Health Finder' app will give free mobile access to Bupa's award winning health factsheets. Covering conditions from angina to yellow fever, Bupa's health factsheets are already viewed by over 20 million people each year and as sales of smartphones outpace those of PCs, more people are likely to do so on-the-go.
As well as providing information about medical conditions, Bupa's latest app lets people search for specialists, hospitals, and Bupa centres in their area so they can discuss with their GP which one might be best for them, should they require treatment.
For users with Bupa health insurance, the app also provides a step-by-step guide to the claims process, stores membership details and saves details of their Bupa advisers in one place. The intuitive app also stores the pre-authorisation codes for customers' appointments as well as automatically updating their iPhone calendar with the date and time. Compatible with Google maps, the app provides users with directions to their chosen facility.
Sue Moore, marketing and customer development director, Bupa Health and Wellbeing said: "We believe that everyone should have access to high quality health information, so in addition to the 20 million who already use our heath information online each year, we're pleased to offer a version for people to use while on-the-go.
We are always looking for opportunities to improve our customers' experience, and we're confident that the ‘Health Finder' app will help them make the most of their Bupa policy."
The ‘Health Finder' app is available to all iPhone/iPad and iPod touch users and can be downloaded at the Apple ‘App store'.
