Ultimate family fitness break at La Manga Club

24th June 2011 Print

La Manga Club is offering families the ultimate fitness break, giving mum the chance to tone up while the kids can improve their athletic skills.

The five-star Spanish resort has teamed up with specialist company Adventure Boot Camp – founded by double Olympic gold medalist Daley Thompson and TV Gladiator Kate Staples – to ensure the whole family can stay active on holiday.

Between July 18 and August 12, former Commonwealth record holder Staples will be taking daily classes, Monday to Friday, along with Olympic pole vaulter Nick Buckfield. The fitness sessions, taking place from 9.20am-10.20am, will be aimed at women looking to lose pounds, build tone and strengthen both body and mind.

Shortly after the adult session Buckfield will be coaching the next generation of athletes in Daley Thompson’s Athletics Academy which provides 75 minutes of fun games and sports drills for boys and girls aged seven to 12 years.

Activities will include running technique, sprinting, endurance, hurdles, jumping and throwing disciplines, all under the inspirational guidance of the former Olympian.

Both adults and children can enjoy five-day programmes for €118 per person when staying at the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe or the four-star Las Lomas village, or €150 per week for general resort guests.

Those not keen on taking part in the fitness classes can still stay active with La Manga Club’s unrivalled range of leisure activities at their fingertips, including golf and tennis. And a complimentary hike will take place every Saturday morning providing an opportunity for families to spend some quality time together in the fresh air.

La Manga Club has given families a further boost by improving its summer holiday package offering for those staying before the end of August. A family of four can spend a week at the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe in two interconnecting rooms for only €2,032, including daily buffet breakfast, while a seven-night break in a two bedroom Las Lomas apartment costs just €1,270.

Both include complimentary access – for adults – to Spa La Manga Club’s saunas, steam rooms, indoor pool and gym.
