On Monday 27th June Orbit Homes celebrated the official opening of the Aspire development at Norse Road in Bedford with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The development, which will see over 300 homes being built across a range of tenures including outright sale, HomeBuy Direct, HomeBuy Shared Ownership and Intermediate Rent, will cost £29.5 million to build and is partially funded by £4.6 million of funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Councillor Mohammad Yasin, Speaker of Bedford Council attended the day and gave a short speech about the development and the positive impact that the new homes will have on Bedford before performing the official ribbon cutting.

Also in attendance were Councillor Sylvia Gillard, Councillor for the Goldington Ward, Jim Pollard, Housing Development and Policy Manager at Bedford Borough Council and Nick Sedgwick, Investment and Regeneration Manager at The HCA.

Attendees were shown the development plans and were invited to tour around the newly opened show homes including the 2-bedroom ‘Holly’ style home which includes a contemporary kitchen and fitted wardrobes to the master bedroom, and the ‘Cedar’ style 4-bedroom town house which offers spacious living across three floors and includes the added luxury of an en-suite to the master bedroom as well as two further bathrooms.

Paul High, Managing Director of Orbit Homes hosted the event and said: “This development is very exciting for us as it is our first large-scale development where we will build, develop and sell all homes”

“Our aim is to build a community where people Aspire to live and as such the development has been carefully designed to hold onto green spaces and provide homes across a range of tenures to create a real neighbourhood spirit’

Aspire enjoys an excellent location in a sought-after area of North East Bedford, close to the countryside but allowing easy access to all the facilities that this vibrant town has to offer.

The first release of homes at Aspire is available now and includes 1, 2 3 and 4-bedroom homes. The marketing suite is open Thursday to Monday from 10 am to 5 pm.
