Adventure Week in Pembrokeshire

7th July 2011 Print

The Adventure Week in Pembrokeshire is a week of fun and thrills and spills which can be enjoyed by the family or by a group of friends.

You will stay in a self catering holiday property located just a short distance from the coast, making it an excellent base from which to explore the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire. Pembrokeshire has many quaint towns, gorgoues beaches, unique shops and eateries to explore.

Your wildlife boat trip will be aboard a traditional boat for a 1.5 hour trip around the wildlife colony of Ramsey Island. You will board Gower Ranger before heading out across Ramsey Sound towards Ramsey Island which has some of the highest cliffs in Wales. As you cruise in and out of bays, you will have the opportunity to see grey seals in their natural habitats and also the many different varieties of seabirds that have made Ramsey Island home. You may also spot Ramsey's resident harbour porpoise.

The kitesurfing experience runs from Newgale beach which is a 3 mile stretch of golden sand on the Western coast of Pembrokeshire. Start the day on the beach learning about the powerful kite, how to harness the wind and control it. Once you have mastered these skills on dry land, it is time to head out into the water and put these newly acquired skills to the test in the water. Throughout the experience day you will also learn about the wind, tides, body dragging skills and harness techniques and by the end of the day you will hopefully be putting all these skills and techniques together to enable you to stand and ride the board across the waves.

Coasteering is often described as extreme rockpooling as it involves exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline in style. Scramble climbing, adventure swimming, cliff jumping and rock hopping to name but a few of the methods used to traverse the rocky shore. With a wealth of experience and oodles of enthusiasm, our guides can tailor the adventure to suit your needs and ability. All aspects of a session are optional, if you don't fancy the big jumps or rough water features, simply traverse or float around them.

From £500 per person for 1 week self-catering accommodation (based on 2 or more sharing), a full day of kitesurfing, boat trip and a half day of coasteering.
