Motorpoint cuts cost of hands free kits

29th November 2006 Print
With the Government’s new Road Safety Act gaining Royal Ascent, motorists now face three penalty points if caught using a mobile phone whilst being at the wheel of a vehicle. This follows the on-the-spot penalty fines of £60 which were introduced in December 2003.

Following the announcement of the new road safety laws, Motorpoint, one of the largest car supermarkets in the UK, has cut the price of its professional Hands Free Kits by £55 to just £199+VAT (including installation) on a purchase of a new or used car, making it an ideal gift for friends, colleagues and family this Christmas. This reinforces the continued commitment by Motorpoint to improving both motorist and pedestrian road safety, after also becoming the first retail motor group in the UK to support the RoadSafe initiative, the road safety partnership of leading companies in the motor and transport industries.

Depending on the user’s phone, the kits use either dash mounted cradles which can also be used to recharge the phone, or Bluetooth wireless technology for those phones which are compatible. A superior level of sound quality is achieved via a discreet user microphone which utilises the front speaker to transmit the conversation. All equipment is professionally fitted by an approved automotive electronics specialist prior to customer collection at any of the four UK Motorpoint sites in Derby, Burnley, Glasgow, and Newport, South Wales. Furthermore, the kits do not interfere with the ventilation system or any of the vehicle’s controls.
