Marathon fundraising effort in Portishead

Staff from Charles Church Severn Valley swapped their hard hats for headbands and construction boots for trainers to raise money for the company’s nominated charity, Dreams Come True.
Last weekend, 13 members of staff each completed a two mile walk or run around the nature reserve at Priory Walk development in Portishead to collectively complete the company’s ‘Severn Valley Marathon’.
Nicola Reed, sales director for Charles Church Severn Valley, instigated the event, and comments: “Each year, thousands of children are diagnosed with life threatening illnesses such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. We wanted to raise awareness of the valuable work the Dreams Come True charity does to give these children the best possible life experiences.
“There’s a real sense of camaraderie amongst every member of staff at Charles Church – not only did everyone involved have a fantastic day, but what’s more, we managed to raise £485 for the charity, which shows that doing just a little and pulling together as a team can provide a great result.”
