Multipart demonstrates continuing parts support for TVR

As the official supplier of original TVR parts worldwide, Multipart continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the iconic marque. This was further evidenced at the beginning of June when the company was present at the TAG 11 event at Goodwood in support of the TVR dealer network.

When TVR’s Blackpool factory closed at the end of 2006, Multipart moved quickly to acquire the parts inventory and then carried out a comprehensive exercise to identify the items, catalogue them and store them safely.

At the company’s 280,000 square feet distribution centre and headquarters in Lancashire further work was undertaken aimed at ensuring that TVR owners could obtain genuine parts for their cherished cars at competitive prices. This included re-establishing links with suppliers to TVR in order to ensure continuity of supply.

New dealer appointments were made, taking the TVR network to 44, of which 36 cover the UK with a further eight in Continental Europe. These dealers benefit from the proven service standards that Multipart provides to all of its automotive customers, including next day delivery of parts ordered before 6.00 pm on any weekday.

Availability levels have remained high across the total parts range including windscreens and chassis components, which is a very creditable achievement for a marque that hasn’t been produced for over five years.

To further support the dealer network Multipart created an Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) using its considerable in-house IT capabilities. The catalogue makes it much easier and quicker for dealers to identify and order parts.

Recent updates include an extended section covering Sagaris and Tuscan models and other changes to make navigation of the catalogue simpler. These were part of a package of measures aimed at making it easier for TVR dealers to do business with Multipart. The package included a review of parts prices to make them more competitive and enhancements to the returns and warranty policies, recognising the requirements of TVR customers..

John Cascone, Multipart Sales & Marketing Director, says: “It is our focus on the customer, both TVR dealers and owners that gives us a competitive edge. Understanding their requirements means that we can use our scale when negotiating with suppliers, enabling us to provide original equipment quality parts for TVR cars at very competitive prices.”

He also points to the economies that come from shared use of the company’s large and highly-automated distribution centre along with their ability to keep down transport costs.

“For a low volume marque like TVR these costs, if borne alone, would have to be reflected in the price owners pay for parts. By utilising our expertise and efficiency we can keep costs down and parts prices competitive.

“We’re proud to be associated with such a prestigious marque as TVR and remain totally committed to providing the highest level of parts and marketing support that we can achieve and look forward to supporting dealers and owners for many years to come,” he concludes.
