Retirees John and Janet Mundy have found an ideal place to settle down at Taylor Wimpey’s Bramble Walk development of houses for sale in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

When John and Janet Mundy bought a bungalow by the sea, they were hoping they had found their perfect place to enjoy the rest of their lives together.

But, after failing to settle in the Essex coastal town of Clacton-on-Sea, the north Londoners reconsidered their options, eventually finding their retirement idyll 80 miles inland at Taylor Wimpey’s Bramble Walk development of property for sale in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

“We really thought we had found what we were looking for when we opted for a new life by the sea,” says part-time nursery nurse Janet (64), reflecting on the events that led them to choose their ideal property in Biggleswade.

“John had retired and was suffering with his health, so we thought life by the sea would help in that respect, but he didn’t really settle in Clacton.

“Our daughter was already living in Biggleswade, so we knew all about the development, and after finding out about the new Taylor Wimpey homes in Biggleswade on the internet, we visited the Sales Centre and that was that!”

Since moving into their four-bedroom ‘York’ detached house in February, part-time nursery nurse Janet and former London cabbie John (65), have been delighted with their decision to move to the development of houses to buy in Biggleswade.

“The house is just wonderful, all the rooms are really light and I love the layout,” says Janet.

“My favourite room is our large kitchen/dining room which has French doors to the garden and we also have the luxury of a home office.

“I am really pleased with our master bedroom, which is en-suite with a lovely double shower. I was never a shower person until we moved here, now I can’t keep out of it!”

Originally from High Barnet, the Mundys feel Bramble Walk is the ideal place to put their roots down.

“The area is lovely, we have some really nice neighbours and it’s great to have our grandchildren around the corner,” says Janet.

“Plus, with me still working at a nursery in Finchley, I find the commute into London is very straightforward.”

Bramble Walk’s Sales Executive, Gary Cranfield, also came in for special praise from the Mundys, after pulling out all the stops to make sure their new home was finished in time for their move.

“We accepted an offer on our bungalow after Christmas, and moved to Bramble Walk in February, so it was a quick turnaround,” says Janet.

“Gary was wonderful, he made sure everything was completed in time for us, and ahead of schedule.”

Bramble Walk is a collection of 139 new homes creating a seamless natural extension to the well-connected Bedfordshire town of Biggleswade.

A stunning selection of new houses is available at the development, with prices starting from as little as £155,000 for a two-bedroom starter home and just £215,000 for a three-bedroom design.

Biggleswade boasts a wide selection of high street and independent shops, a bustling weekly market, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, health facilities, and a leisure centre and pool, while a good choice of schools ensures children of all ages are well catered for.

For commuters, the town’s railway station is only a mile from the development and runs frequent services to London King’s Cross in as little as 35 minutes, while the A1 for the capital and the north is just half a mile from home.

To find out more about the new homes for sale at Bramble Walk, house-hunters should visit the Sales Centre, located in Saxon Drive, Biggleswade, and open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday, and Mondays from 1.30pm to 5pm.
