Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire has cause to celebrate after three site managers, Paul McLachlan, Lee Dewing and Jeff Watson who cover three developments - Bridgewater View, Mill Gardens and Scholars’ Rise - scooped a prestigious NHBC (National House Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award.

Beating off stiff competition from more than 13,000 entries, the award, which is one of 65 won by Taylor Wimpey site managers around the UK, recognises the trio’s dedication to building high quality homes for new home buyers.

Presented following a stringent judging process by NHBC inspectors who perform spot checks on developments throughout the year, the Quality Awards also provide homebuyers with the assurance that the development provides top quality homes and excellent customer care.

Winner of seven consecutive NHBC Pride in Job Awards, Paul McLachlan said: “Since joining Taylor Wimpey 10 years ago, my team has remained the same and has continued to take great pride in what they do and work extremely hard to ensure the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards. I’m delighted to once again have reached this stage of the competition and to be recognised by the industry in this way.”

Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire adds: “Our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of quality, service and customer care has ensured that we continue to be an NHBC award winning house builder year after year. The trio of awards are thoroughly deserved and we’ll all be supporting Paul, Lee and Jeff as they progress through to the regional heats and hopefully the grand final.”

The only awards scheme that recognises the significant contribution of site managers in new home construction, Pride in the Job has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in the UK for over three decades. The regional events take place in the autumn, with the Supreme Awards gala final being held in January 2012, the NHBC’s 75th anniversary year.
