The Hyundai Academy – the first in the UK – was yesterday opened by the President of Hyundai Motor Europe, Chang Kyun Han in High Wycombe.

The new training facility has been designed specifically to train Hyundai’s UK dealership staff from apprentice technicians to Dealer Principals, covering all technical, sales and service disciplines.

President Han commented: “The opening of this Training Academy in the UK reinforces Hyundai Motor Group’s commitment to ensuring top level and consistent Customer Service. It will provide first-class tuition and excellent personal development opportunities for our dealership staff.

“The UK is a rapidly growing market for Hyundai, making an extremely important contribution to the development of our business and our brand in Europe.”

Tony Whitehorn, managing director, Hyundai Motor UK Ltd said:  “Hyundai has a holistic approach to delivering the best possible service. It is important to us that what our customers experience from the start is as good as it is at the end.  Our industry-leading 5 Year Triple Care package has now been extended and comes as standard on all passenger vehicles in the UK ensuring total transparency and we anticipate that the opening of this new centre will continue to maintain and enhance the relationship our consumers have with their dealerships.”

The work of the Academy will be supplemented by regional training but 80% of all training will be delivered from this site.  It will facilitate up to 70 people per day but when free, the facility will be offered out to the local education community.
