A new tramline means that residents of new homes in Moston will be able to enjoy the benefits of city centre living without the hefty price tag.

Redrow is working with Manchester City Council to build homes in the Moston and Harpurhey areas, close to where two tram stops are due to open this autumn. The new Metrolink tramline will offer frequent services to Manchester Victoria, making the homes the ideal choice for those who want easy access to the city centre.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), commented: “Moston has undergone a major regeneration in recent years and we’re proud to be playing our part by proving new homes at an affordable price. The tram stops at Central Park and Newton Heath and Moston opening later this year will give the area a further boost and will be great for those who work in the city centre but don’t want to have to pay city centre prices for a home.”

Current availability at Hanson Gardens, off Lightbowne Road, includes a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes priced from as little as £104,995.

The already low prices are made even more affordable thanks to the opportunity to defer a quarter of the property price for up to 10 years interest free. Administered by Manchester City Council, this ‘easi:buy’ scheme means that a two-bedroom property could be purchased for an initial outlay of just £78,746.

“The affordable price of the homes at Hanson Gardens makes them the ideal choice for people who are fed up of wasting their hard-earned cash on rent when what they really want is a home of their own,” Lesley added.

“And because we understand that setting up home for the first time is expensive we’re offering to include carpets, turf and legal fees in the price of selected properties.”

Some two and three-bedroom homes are almost ready to move into so great for those seeking a quick move.

“Buying a home is a big step, particularly if it’s your first, but out friendly, experienced sales team will guide customers through the home buying process to make it as simple and straight forward as possible. And to help people understand how ‘easi:buy’ works we’ve produced an easy to follow video guide to the scheme. It can be viewed online at Redrow.TV where potential purchasers can also take a virtual tour of Moston to get a real feel for the area,” Lesley said.

Highlights of a major renewal and regeneration initiative in Moston and Harpurhey, led by the City Council, include redevelopment of North City shopping centre and market, the award winning North Manchester Sixth Form and Library, state of the art leisure facilities at North City Family and Fitness Centre, plus huge investment in local education, parks and green spaces.
