Red Sea Holidays launch new family diving holidays

4th August 2011 Print

Red Sea Holidays has launched a new family diving package for families who would like to try out something new while on holiday.

Families looking for fun activities that both kids and adults will enjoy can now explore beautiful coral and swim with tropical fish in one of the world’s greatest diving locations.

The hot, dry climate in the Red Sea region has created an arid desert landscape. Underwater, the contrast is quite surprising, with colourful marine life and stunning coral reefs. The crystal clear sea is consistently warm and the reefs and tropical fish are close to the shore making it an ideal safe and easy lean to dive destination.

Scuba diving is very popular in the Red Sea but for inexperienced visitors knowing where to start can be difficult. Red Sea Holidays is making it easy for kids and adults who want to learn together, in smaller groups at a manageable pace by launching their ‘Family Dive’ package in selected resorts with dives of no deeper than 12 metres. Kids will love getting up close and personal with the thousands of species of fish, while adults who always wanted to dive and never got round to it finally have the chance! The courses, which are held between 9am and 4 pm, include theory and pool time – where pupils adjust to the equipment and breathing – before progressing to open water dives. Diving students receive five sessions over a week, culminating in a final dive which, upon completion, means the PADI Open Water certificate can be awarded.

The diving courses can be held privately for families or in groups, with several families able to learn together so long as the children are aged 12 and above. Red Sea Holidays will offer tailor made packages for single parent families or groups involving children aged ten or eleven to ensure the experience is safe and enjoyable for everyone. The diving packages will launch exclusively in seven of Red Sea Holidays’ most popular hotels. Along Sharm El Sheikh’s beautiful coastline, the Grand Hotel, Ghazala Beach, Ghazala Gardens and the Sharm Plaza & Resort will feature the package, while the Siva Grand Beach, Grand Hotel and the Grand Resort will have diving courses in Hurghada.

For families keen to continue their diving adventures, private guides can be hired upon completion of the course.  With prices starting from just £295 per person, this is a value for money opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience. The price includes all dive classes with a certified instructor and equipment hire.

Sales Director Jason Hilton quotes “We have been looking at areas in which we can differentiate and segment our product. The Red Sea is one of the best places to dive in the world and due to its warmth, clear water, quality dive schools and instructors it is also one of the best places to learn to dive. We wanted to make it easy for families to have this experience together and to experience a diving holiday where there is still time to relax and enjoy the hotel and resort’s fantastic facilities. With prices starting from just £295 per person, this is a value for money opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience.”

Lead in prices including seven nights’ accommodation at the 4 Star All Inclusive Sharm Resort hotel start at £589 per adult and £399 for children (up to 12 years). The price includes return flights, resort transfers, in flight meals and 20kg luggage allowance.
