New job, new city and new home at Harbourside for Andrew

For Andrew Kane the past few months have been stressful. Not only has he moved away from the family home in Dorset to a whole new city, he has also started a new job at the MOD and bought his first apartment at Bristol’s Harbourside.
The 24 year-old Civil Servant, originally from sleepy Blandford Forum in Dorset, was offered a logistics job with the MOD at Abbey Wood, meaning he had to pack up his life and move to Bristol.
After looking at several properties in the city Andrew eventually settled on a two-bedroom apartment at Harbourside, Crest Nicholson’s premier waterside development:
“The views sold it for me; there are many plus points to Harbourside but the views are breathtaking and looking out onto the floating harbour is really relaxing, especially when the weather is nice.
“Harbourside was the first place I visited when I started looking for a property in Bristol. I then shopped around a bit, but found that nothing compared to the apartment I had first seen. It was so light and airy, which is something a lot of other apartments lacked.
“I also like that it’s really quiet at night but there’s loads going on just down the road. Whether I want a night out, a quiet meal or something different to do, I can find it all on my doorstep. Bristol is very different to Blandford Forum!”
Since moving in six weeks ago, Andrew has been exploring what Bristol has to offer and despite still living with boxes and sleeping in a sleeping bag, he has settled in to his new home.
He added: “Bristol is really exciting and I find it very easy to get into work from the centre. The convenience Harbourside offers makes life simple and much more enjoyable.”
The views, as well as the enviable location in the heart of the city, is what has attracted many buyers to Harbourside, but the positives don’t stop there. Each apartment is finished to the highest possible standard meaning stylish living and little maintenance.
Security is another aspect of Harbourside life, its residents enjoy. With secure underground parking, the development offers piece of mind as well as privacy.
Susan Young, sales and marketing director for Harbourside said: “Choosing a home at Harbourside puts people at the hub of city centre life, with work and leisure opportunities just a short stroll away.
“Properties here have proved popular with first-time buyers like Andrew, as well as downsizers and professional couples. We are also finding that apartments here are perfect for investment opportunities. Andrew’s parents, for example, have helped him purchase his first property and they will reap the rewards in years to come.”
Andrew continued: “Even though the ultimate decision was mine, my parents did play a part in helping me choose my new home. We all agreed that Harbourside was the best for value for money, location and style.
“There are some downsides to not living with my parents, my mum not doing my washing for one, but overall I love my new home, new job and new city. Life is good!”
Prices currently start from £249,950.
