Award-winning bespoke luxury travel company, Black Tomato, goes into the wild this October introducing Wild about Cheetahs exclusively to the UK, a uniquely tailored African experience following the fastest mammal on the planet.

For the ultimate ‘under the skin’ experience, Black Tomato has secured exclusive access to game reserves in the African wilderness and pulled in famed safari guide and author of ‘Whatever you do, don’t run’ Peter Allison plus talented conservation photographer and National Geographic contributor, Marcy Mendelson. Following the quickest wild cat around, the Wild about Cheetahs experience is an opportunity to get up close to these incredible creatures whilst learning in depth from experts in the field.

These specialists will guide an unforgettable journey, exploring the best of South Africa’s cheetah regions in off road vehicles. Listen to enthralling lectures and seminars from cheetah researchers and find a flare for photography with Marcy Mendelson’s hands-on tutorials. Experienced game rangers will also be on hand every step of the way, imparting wisdom and knowledge to the untrained eye helping spot all the mighty creatures of this great region, from the giant elephant to the tiny dung beetle.

After arriving in Johannesburg, guests are whisked off to Phinda Private Game Reserve where the action begins. The bespoke experience includes twice-daily game drives in 4x4 vehicles, boat cruises, canoe trips, light aircraft flights and guided nature walks. Accommodation covers some of the most exclusive boutique tented camps and lodges in South Africa, Kirkman’s Kamp and Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, situated on the permanent channel of the Okavango Delta, with exclusive traversing rights over 270km of wilderness in a private concession.

The final destination is well worth the wait, with breathtaking views of the ever-changing Okavango Delta known as “the river that never finds the sea”.  Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is a wilderness haven, amongst an oasis of islands and crystal clear water channels in the Kalahari Desert.

Black Tomato can arrange a bespoke 13-night Wild about Cheetahs South African experience from £5,690 per person based on two sharing. The price is fully inclusive and based upon October 2011 departures.
