New housing development rocks in Weston

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley has put the ‘super’ into Weston super Mare with the launch of a new housing development in the town and in keeping with its coastal location, Persimmon handed out free ice-cream last weekend to locals to celebrate the opening of its ‘super’ new site - Meare Gardens.
Meare Gardens, situated on Wolvershill Road in West Wick, will ultimately feature two, three, four and five bedroom new homes. Properties on the first release are priced from just £157,995.
Nicola Reed, sales director for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: “The launch of Meare Gardens has been eagerly anticipated by local house hunters for quite some time. We were delighted with the number of visitors that passed through the doors last weekend – having built in Weston for many years, we have built a solid reputation in the area for the quality and price-point of our properties – and potential buyers clearly recognise and appreciate that.
“Combining incredibly competitive price tags, a stunning coastal location and a range of home moving deals, I’m sure Meare Gardens will become one of our best selling sites.”
Selected homes at Meare Gardens are currently available under the FirstBuy scheme – a Government supported incentive geared at helping first time buyers.
FirstBuy is offered through equity loan funding of up to 20 per cent of the purchase price split equally between the Homes and Communities Agency and Persimmon, with purchasers being required to raise funding (a mortgage plus deposit) of at least 80 per cent of the purchase price. This would mean that for a property worth £160,000 buyers would need to secure a mortgage of £120,000, with a deposit of just £8,000.
