Santander Student Accounts cash prize giveaway

Santander is giving everyone who opens a Student Current Account from Thursday 18 August to Tuesday 18 October the chance to win one of five cash prizes of £1,000 - and the bank is also giving away £50 every hour for 30 days from 12:00 on Monday 22 August on its Facebook site.

Santander's Student Current Account offers some of the best benefits available to students starting or returning to university this year, including:

Free mobile, gadget and laptop cover worth over £240 per year
Interest-free overdraft up to £2,000
Competitive in-credit interest rate

The account's free mobile phone, gadget and laptop insurance, worth more than £240 per year, is available for up to three years and the mobile phone insurance even covers iPhones5, and data back-up (all devices need to be registered to activated the insurance benefits).  All students need to do to keep these great benefits is credit their account with at least £500 each term.

With an interest-free overdraft of up to £2,000, the account offers £1,000 interest-free in the first year and increases each year after that.  It also pays a competitive in-credit interest of 1 per cent on balances of up to £500, providing additional support to students during the times when they have money coming in and are in credit.
