Described as “legendary elegance” and acclaimed worldwide as a secluded retreat for more than 80 years, the five-star luxury resort, The Cloister, offers 175 world-class hotel rooms and suites, showcasing a unique coastal setting on Sea Island and exclusive access to five miles of private beach. The 1,235-acre resort island, Sea Island, has served as an unrivalled Georgia luxury resort holiday destination.

The Sea Island Beach Club offers guests three swimming pools, in addition to private air-conditioned poolside cabanas. The resort also offers a variety of water sports, including snorkelling, swimming, and scuba lessons taught by certified instructors, and sailing schools and ocean kayaking clinics during the summer. Activities such as bicycle riding, fishing, nature tours, and horseback riding are also available as well as three golf courses.

Additional amenities include The Cloister’s fitness centre and luxury spa, offering single treatments or entire days devoted to wellness and tranquillity. Each treatment is customized according to guests’ personal preferences and goals. The spa has twenty three luxurious treatment rooms, as well as saunas, pools, and a steam room. Services offered include full body massages, body wraps, reflexology, skin care, and exfoliation treatments.

The resort also offers gourmet dining for guests, with “refined Southern” cuisine and an impressive wine list at the award winning Forbes Five-Star Georgian Room. Other favourites include the resort’s Colt & Allison Restaurant, known for its wet- and dry-aged beef and panoramic views of Plantation Course’s 18th hole.

The four Golden Isles of Georgia include St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, and Little St. Simons Island. The Isles are located an hour north of Jacksonville, Florida, and one hour south of Savannah, Georgia, and offer miles of beaches, outdoor activities, and shopping. In order to reach Sea Island, travellers drive on a long causeway across marshland. Much of the area remains in an environmentally natural state with mild weather year round.
