Part exchange makes sense at Taylor Wimpey’s Revival development

When Neil and Linda Mitchell finally found their dream Taylor Wimpey property they faced a major problem – they still had their current home to sell.

The couple had tried to find a buyer for the country house a few years earlier with no success and were worried the same thing would happen again.

So when they found out about Taylor Wimpey’s part exchange scheme they jumped at the chance to get involved.
The scheme allows the national housebuilder to act as your cash buyer – cutting out stressful chains and costly estate agents’ fees.

Neil and Linda, 40, a business manager, used the initiative to sell their existing home to Taylor Wimpey for a fixed price – leaving them free to start planning life in their new home.

They were able to snap up a five bedroom Blakeney property at the Revival development near York and after moving in to the luxury home two months ago, they say they’ve never been happier.

As Neil, 47, an IT consultant, explains: “Part exchange wasn’t something we’d considered but when we talked it through it was ideal.

“Like most people I was initially sceptical about the price we’d be offered for our old home but actually we were very happy with it, we felt it was more than fair – and being able to move without the stress, uncertainty and cost of selling on the open market was a massive boost.

“We were even able to stay in our old home until the new one was ready. Now we’re in it’s fantastic - very light and airy – and we love being able to just stroll into the city centre if we want to.”

Revival is already home to a thriving local community and continues to prove popular with buyers looking for a luxury home at an affordable price.

Nestling between York and the all-important A64, the popular Revival development combines the convenience of a modern development, with all the peace and tranquillity of a country retreat.

Just a short walk from the historic city centre, it is well-placed for making the most of the region’s cultural and artistic activities and offers easy access to a wide range of local shops and nightlife.

Commuters are within a short drive of both the M62 and M1 motorways and York train station runs regular services to London, Manchester and Newcastle.

As Jackie McKeown, sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire explains: “Part exchange has always been popular and recent uncertainty in the housing market, has made it a more attractive proposition than ever.

”Like so many other customers, the Mitchells have found it straightforward and easy to use – and it’s great to hear it has taken the stress out of their moving experience.

“We’d advise anyone else who is thinking about part exchange to come along and have a chat to our sales team who can tell them more about how it could work for them.”

You can visit the Revival sales office, at the development, off Tadcaster Road, Dringhouses, York, Thursday to Monday from 11am until 5pm, or visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
