Yorkshire launches new two year cash ISA savings account

6th September 2011 Print

A new fixed rate cash ISA paying a competitive return is about to be added to Yorkshire Building Society's tax free savings portfolio.

From Friday, 9th September, the society will offer a new ISA, paying a competitive interest rate of 3.35% AER fixed for two years.

"Cash ISAs give a tax-free return for savers who are able to put their money away for a reasonable period," said Yorkshire Building Society Savings Product Manager Mike Helliwell.

"The Bank of England base rate is not expected to rise for some time so savers are prepared to lock away their cash for a little longer if the rate is right."

The new ISA will accept transfers in from existing cash ISAs, as well as new investment by savers who do not currently hold a cash ISA.

The minimum investment is £100 and the maximum which can be saved into a cash ISA in the current financial year is £5,340.

The new Yorkshire Building Society ISA can be opened over the telephone, by calling 0845 1200 100, or in any Yorkshire branch or agency,
