Low deposits for new North Manchester homes

Aspiring homeowners don’t need to scrimp and save to be able to afford a new home in North Manchester thanks to Redrow and Manchester City Council.

The award-winning housebuilder is working with the council to provide new homes in the Moston and Harpurhey areas. Together they are offering a deferred payment scheme to ensure the properties are affordably priced.

It means purchasers can put off paying up to a quarter of the price, plus they won’t need to stump up a hefty cash deposit to secure a home.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), explained: “Many people who want to buy their own home think that they need to put down a large cash deposit up front, but that’s not necessarily the case. Thanks to our ‘easi:buy’ scheme those with savings of around £5,000 could find they are able to purchase a stylish new home at Hanson Gardens.”

For example a two-bedroom home can potentially be secured with a 5% deposit of £5,250. Available on the open market at £104,995, it can be purchased for an initial outlay of just £78,746 with ‘easi:buy’.

The valuable help is also available on three and four-bedroom homes. A four-bedroom family home usually costing £132,995 can be purchased for only £99,746 up front – that’s an initial saving of more than £33,000.

The remaining share can be deferred for 10 years or until the customer has more funds available.

“With the help of ‘easi:buy’, those who are caught in the rental trap could find they are able to make that crucial first step onto the property ladder at a price they can afford; while people who think they have to settle for a home that’s in need of lots of work will be delighted to discover that they won’t have to compromise on style to achieve their dream of homeownership,” Lesley added.

“All of our properties are designed and built with pride by skilled tradesmen who strive to ensure that our customers experience the joy of owning a brand new home. Built with modern family living in mind and in line with the council’s ‘home for life’ specification, our homes in Moston are designed to adapt to a purchaser’s changing needs over time.”

Despite the low price, the homes boast quality kitchens and bathrooms. Well insulated with double glazing and central heating included as standard, they’re also potentially cheaper to run than their older second hand counterparts, which means householders should save money on their fuel bills.

The Moston area has undergone a major transformation in recent years with investments in amenities including schools, libraries, shops and public transport.
