Get fit in a wild weekend on the Isle of Wight

9th September 2011 Print

Outdoor fitness pioneers Wildfitness are bringing their wild philosophy to British shores for the first time with the launch of their new destination on the Isle of Wight.

To meet demand from previous 'Wild Ones' hungry for more, Wildfitness is introducing Wild Weekends, an easily accessible three day weekend courses from Spring 2012.

Wild Weekends is the vision of Wildfitness employees, Ro and Netta Pakenham, who grew up on the Isle of Wight with a father who lived life barefoot and a mother whose vegetable patch ensured self-sufficiency. They spent their childhood exploring the wilder side of the island, which provides the setting an inspiration for this new venture.

The weekend break offers newcomers a taste of Wildfitness and immerses past clients back into wild living.  The action-packed programme includes stress-busting activities that take place on the island's most picturesque points and skill sessions with top coaches in fifteen acres of beautiful gardens.

Over a three day weekend you can expect to participate in a practical workshop on natural movement and body perception, a Wild Mobility and breathing class in a secret corner of the garden, games on the beach, a run on the downs and a dip in the sea.

In keeping with the Wildfitness approach, imaginatively cooked meals are prepared with fresh, seasonal and locally grown produce to give your body the healthy kick it needs. Expect to enjoy delights such as tender lamb with wild greens and famous Wildfitness banana whip.

Guests will stay at Northcourt Manor, on the quiet south-west side of the island which enjoys a special microclimate. Prices start from £630 for a standard shared room.
