Imperial Commercials expands into North Wales

9th December 2006 Print
Imperial Commercials Ltd., the country’s leading commercial vehicle dealer group, has increased its geographical coverage with the acquisition of Hawarden Commercials at Sandycroft, Deeside. The dealership is being re-branded as Imperial Commercials, and brings the Hino truck franchise to the area for the first time.

Covering around 1.25 acres, the well-established business had traded successfully for many years and all 15 employees have been retained. This new Imperial Commercials site continues as Contracted Repairer for MAN ERF and Authorised Repairer for Renault trucks, and adds sales and servicing for leading Japanese truck manufacturer, Hino.

Imperial Commercials managing director Ian Oakes, said: “This acquisition fits well with our policy of expansion into areas adjacent to our existing businesses and gives us service capacity not only in Cheshire and north Wales, but also into the Wirral. It also strengthens our relationship with Hino when significant model range expansion is planned.”

Jason Dutton, who was in the previous management team, is the depot manager of Imperial Commercials on Deeside, reporting to executive director, Geoff Haspell. Graham Gosnay moves from Imperial Commercials’ Stoke site and has been appointed Hino area sales manager based at Deeside.

The acquisition of Imperial Commercials on Deeside takes the company’s dealer network to 24 sites including other sales and service outlets for Hino at Derby and Peterborough. Imperial Commercials also has franchise partnerships with DAF Trucks, Isuzu Trucks, MAN ERF and LDV vans. The company sells over 2,300 new trucks and 1,500 new vans each year and holds a parts stock of around £6 million, offering a wide range of solutions to meet truck and van users’ operational needs.

Imperial Commercials is a member of the Imperial Holdings Group of companies.
