Good schools, transport links and amenities can all help increase the value of your home, but what about a new football stadium? As the new football season gets underway, Taylor Wimpey is urging buyers to get in quick at its Blenheim Meadow development in Cheswick as homeowners in the area could see the value of their homes soar when Bristol City’s proposed new regional stadium is built nearby.

New research from Halifax showed that homeowners with the same postcode area as a top flight team saw prices rise by an average of 168% over the past decade. The study also found that five of the six biggest house price increases across England and Wales were where a new stadium had been built in the past 15 years.*

Richard Goad, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey said: “There’s often a misconception that living near to something like a football ground will cut the value of your home. But statistics show that actually the opposite is true. The regeneration of an area, together with improved amenities and transport links help to boost the local property market.”

Taylor Wimpey has just launched a new collection of two, three and four bedroom homes at its Blenheim Meadow development in Cheswick, Bristol.

Richard added: “We are really excited about launching this new development. Blenheim Meadow has a great choice of homes and we’re currently offering a variety of initiatives such as the Government’s new FirstBuy scheme, shared equity and deposit match to help buyers make the move to their new home. Add to this the potential increase in property values once the proposed new football stadium is complete and it really does tick all the boxes.”

Visitors to Blenheim Meadow can now view the brand new showhome and see what properties are on offer at the development. Prices start from just £139,995 for a two bedroom apartment with three bedroom homes priced from £219,995. First time buyers can alos ake advantage of the newly-launched FirstBuy scheme which reduces the need for a large deposit.

FirstBuy works through a joint loan of 20% from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Taylor Wimpey, which means that eligible purchasers only need put down a 5% deposit and obtain a 75% loan-to-value mortgage. The loan is repayable at the end of the 25 year mortgage term or when the property is sold. To be eligible, purchasers must be first time buyers and the total household earning should be less than £60,000.

Blenheim Meadow is less than five miles from Bristol city centre and is close to Bristol Parkway train station. Cheswick is an exciting suburb designed for life in the 21st Century and an excellent location for commuters with both the M4 and M5 motorways in easy reach. Straddling the boundaries of Stoke Gifford, Filton and Locklease, Cheswick is surrounded by thriving businesses and the University of the West of England.
