Virgin Media TV customers to get five new HD channels
Virgin Media has announced seven new TV channels, including five in HD, would join its digital TV service from this month. The latest line-up will extend Virgin Media’s high-definition channel offering to an impressive 37 of which 24 stunning HD channels are available to its ‘XL’ TV customers with no extra monthly HD fee. The full channel line-up includes Eden HD, Eden +1, Good Food HD, Yesterday +1, Watch HD, Dave HD, with Alibi HD due to follow in 2012.
All of the channels offer a wealth of great entertainment, whether it’s classic series like Doctor Who or new and original programming such as the amazing Dynamo: Magician Impossible and the daring The TA & the Taliban. From October customers can look forward to a whole host of new series across UKTV channels including Eden’s World of Wonder featuring Professor Brian Cox as he guides viewers through the incredible wonders of our solar system and from the makers of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding comes a joyous new series called A Very British Party celebrating some of the country’s weirdest and most wonderful people in the build up to the biggest party of their lives.
On Good Food internationally-acclaimed Brighton chocolatier, Choccywoccydoodah, is opening its doors once more to provide further scrumptious insights into its maverick and crazy world. Series two of Choccywoccydoodah once again provides exclusive access to the world-class shop in Brighton, which produces more than 7,500 cakes every year and has a clientele ranging from foreign dignitaries to A-listers including Madonna, Johnny Depp and Kylie Minogue.
Coming to Dave from the 3rd November is Argumental, back with a whole new team of argumentalists in the arena. In the host’s hot seat is esteemed comic and panellist Sean Lock, while Peep Show and That Mitchell And Webb Look’s Robert Webb and award-winning newcomer Seann Walsh head up the teams. Joining them throughout the series is a veritable conveyor belt of top comedy talent. Say hello to Ardal O’Hanlon, Jimmy Carr, Russell Kane, Jack Whitehall, Jason Manford and Jo Brand.
