A taste of France in the New Forest

Stanwell House Hotel – a delightful boutique hotel, located in the fishing town of Lymington on the southern tip of the New Forest – is staging a decadent black-tie evening of Fine French Food and Wine on Wednesday 23 November.

The six course feast will be prepared by resident chef Xavier Souletis – originally from La Rochelle in south-west France – using a wide variety of ingredients including New Forest venison.

The evening will commence with Champagne and Canapés at 7.30pm and the opulent menu, which will be accompanied by different wines provided by The Solent Cellar to perfectly balance each course, will include:

Pan Fried Foie Gras on Toasted Brioche - Autumn Fruit Compote, Port Wine Sauce

Poached Oyster - Creamed Leeks, Lemongras Hollandaise

Pavé of Salmon - Crispy Polenta, Spinach, Dill and Mustard Cream

Loin of New Forest Venison - Celeriac Risotto, Walnut and Juniper Jus

Roquefort Pannacotta - Wholemeal Crostini, Organic Fig Relish

Rich Dark Chocolate Torte - Nougatine Tuile

The price of the meal is £65.00 per person not including service which is discretionary.

Overnight accommodation for those attending the evening can be booked at the special price of £75 per couple, on a bed and breakfast basis. Four-poster rooms and suites are also available.
