Taylor Wimpey’s Woodlands Park development of new homes for sale in Bedford has hosted a successful community walk for local residents.

Families were out in force for the first woodland community walk around the beautiful new country park at Taylor Wimpey’s Woodlands Park development of new build homes in Bedford.

The event, which was a joint initiative between housing association bpha, Bedford Borough Council and Taylor Wimpey, attracted more than 20 residents of the new homes in Bedford and visitors, along with a few pets.

Ed Burnett, Countryside Sites Officer at Bedford County Council, led the walk, which followed a highly successful community tree planning event earlier in the year at the development of houses for sale in Bedford.

And as well as enjoying a day out in the fresh air and being given a cotton Taylor Wimpey ‘bag for life’, visitors took the opportunity to look around the development’s fabulous showhomes and find out about the gorgeous new properties available to reserve now.

Kim Norris, who was one of the event organisers, said that everyone involved had enjoyed the chance to get out during the wonderful weather.
“Everyone who came along on the day really enjoyed the event and the combination of a lovely sunny day with the chance to learn more about the history of the area made it a successful day for everyone involved,” she said.

Steve Rolt, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “The tranquil country park at Woodlands Park offers superb opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors and we’re delighted that the events in the park are also fostering a wonderful sense of community here.

“With such a beautiful natural area right on the doorstep of these high-quality homes, it’s no surprise that Woodlands Park is proving so popular with buyers, so anyone hoping to join the new residents here is advised to contact us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

There’s a stunning selection of properties available to reserve now at Woodlands Park, including the spacious three-bedroom ‘Eleanor’ from just £195,000 – which can be accessed by qualifying purchasers for 80% of its price under the Government backed FirstBuy initiative – that’s only £156,000.

FirstBuy works through a joint loan of 20% from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Taylor Wimpey, which means that eligible purchasers only need put down a 5% deposit and obtain a 75% loan-to-value mortgage.

The loan is repayable at the end of the 25-year mortgage term or when the property is sold. To be eligible, purchasers must be first-time buyers and their total household earnings should be less than £60,000.

Alternatively, the delightful three-bedroom ‘Fenton’ is priced from just £210,000, while the impressive four-bedroom ‘Stafford’ detached house is available from only £370,000.

Woodlands Park is conveniently situated for the very best of both town and country. Just over a mile from Bedford town centre, home to shops, bars and restaurants catering for all tastes, it is also surrounded by peaceful countryside, close to conservation areas and a stone’s throw from Priory Country Park – more than 200 acres of opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, including walking, cycling, boating and angling.

For commuters, Bedford station offers mainline links to London St Pancras while the M1 and the A1 are each only a short drive away.
