Homebuyers get help to find ideal Stratford property

First-time buyers James and Jemimah Pearson were given a welcome leg-up on to the property ladder at Taylor Wimpey’s The Hathaways development of new homes for sale in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Finding the right home is usually a priority for young couples beginning their married life together, but it can often be an expensive and stressful affair.
So when James and Jemimah Pearson found their perfect property at Taylor Wimpey’s The Hathaways development of houses for sale in Stratford-upon-Avon, they were delighted to discover they could receive 5% towards their deposit from the leading housebuilder.
And with Jemimah expecting their first child, the all-important Gifted Deposit scheme meant the Pearsons could purchase their new property for sale in Stratford while holding back some cash for the new arrival.
“We were renting a big, four-bedroom bungalow in a village about seven miles out of Stratford-upon-Avon before we decided to buy our own place,” says James (30), who is Head of New Business for Warwick-based Training & Consultancy firm FGI Limited, reflecting on the couple’s search for new build homes in Stratford. “Then, after our wedding, we moved in with my mum so that we could save up the deposit we needed.
“We managed to save some money, but we thought it wasn’t going to be enough. So we were really pleased to discover the Gifted Deposit which meant Taylor Wimpey gave us 5% towards the price of the property at The Hathaways. We wouldn’t have been able to start out in our own home without it!”
James and Jemimah’s new two-bedroom terraced home at The Hathaways benefits from a stylish, modern design and is in a fantastic location for the couple’s commute to work and for visiting town.
“Our new place is ideal for us and it’s more efficient to run than the bungalow we were living in,” says James. “And because The Hathaways is on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon, we can avoid all of the tourist traffic going through town while being able to walk into the centre when we need to.”
In what has been a busy first year for the Pearsons, moving home was a peaceful and stress-free experience.
“We got married at the start of the year, moved in with my mum in the summer, we’re expecting a child and now we’re living in our first home together,” says James. “Thankfully moving house was made much easier because of the help we got from Taylor Wimpey and the Sales Executives at The Hathaways who took care of everything.”
There is currently a fantastic selection of three and four-bedroom homes at The Hathaways priced from as little as £211,500.
The three-bedroom ‘Houghton’ detached property, for example, is priced at just £299,995, and features a spacious lounge, a light and airy fitted kitchen/breakfast room, a separate dining room and a handy guest cloakroom on the ground floor.
Upstairs, the landing leads to the en-suite master bedroom, two further bedrooms and a main bathroom, while outside the property benefits from a private rear garden and a garage.
Like all new homes at The Hathaways, the ‘Houghton’ is completed to a high standard specification, including energy-efficient central heating, and a fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.
The Hathaways lies just off Bishopton Lane, near The Avenue in Stratford, and the development is bordered by mature trees, hedges and green open spaces that give it a tranquil, semi-rural ambience.
A host of everyday amenities is on the doorstep, with local buses providing regular services to and from the town centre, and Maybird Shopping Park just a short stroll from home.
Commuters will appreciate that The Hathaways is only a short drive from the A46 Northern bypass for quick links to Leamington, Coventry and the M40 for London and Birmingham. Regular, direct rail services operate from Stratford station to London Marylebone and Birmingham Snow Hill, while Birmingham International Airport is a little over 25 miles away.
The area is also home to a choice of good schools for children of all ages, and a wide range of family attractions are within easy reach, including Blenheim Palace, the Cotswolds, Worcester, the Malverns and Warwick Castle.
