Discover how you could get a foot on the property ladder

First time buyers’ dreams of home ownership could come true with help from Redrow.
The award-winning housebuilder is holding special events for first time buyers in Greater Manchester this weekend (November 12 and 13).
Aimed at helping those starting out in life make that all-important first step on to the property ladder, the events at Hayes Green in Cadishead, near Irlam and at The Willows at Stamford Brook in Altrincham will enable those who aspire to owning their own home to learn about the different products and incentives available to help make home ownership more affordable.
Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), commented: “The majority of young people still dream of owning a home of their own, but many fear that without thousands of pounds in the bank they will be stuck at home living with mum and dad for several more years or will have to waste their hard earned cash on rent.
“We want to allay fears and offer all the help and support we can to get them moving. At our first time buyer events we will be demonstrating to would-be home owners how easy it is to find out about how much the mortgage will cost, with the help of our friendly team of mortgage advisers, and which property would suit their lifestyle the best.”
Current availability at Hayes Green includes two-bedroom apartments on the market from £118,995, plus a range of two and three-bedroom homes.
With FirstBuy available on selected homes, eligible customers could save up to 20% of the price of their first home.
FirstBuy is open to those with a household income of less than £60,000 and is designed to make homeownership more affordable with the help of an equity loan jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes and Communities Agency.
With FirstBuy a deposit of £4,760 plus a mortgage for £90,436 could be enough to secure a two-bedroom apartment available on the open market at £118,995.
Over at The Willows at Stamford Brook two-bedroom apartments are on the market from £120,995. At this location, Redrow may be able to help boost customers’ buying power with the offer of a 5% gifted contribution towards the deposit for an apartment. This could work out at more than £6,000.
Alternatively, buyers could find that parent power is the key to home ownership.
“A cash gift or loan from the ‘bank of mum and dad’ could help your money go further or depending on your circumstances you may find that your parents are able to act as guarantor for your mortgage,” Anita added.
“Anyone considering buying a home of their own should head along to Hayes Green or The Willows at Stamford Brook this weekend to speak to our friendly experienced sales team.”
