With returns from savings accounts and stock exchange struggling to make headway against flatlined interest rates and rising inflation, investors are being urged to take another look at the quality property market in Bristol (UK).

Developers Crest Nicholson – which has only a few properties left in the Beacon House phase of its popular Harbourside development overlooking the city’s historic docklands – believe a waterfront apartment could bring significant long term returns for people struggling to locate suitable investment projects.

Located in the heart of the city centre and with views across the floating harbour and out to the surrounding countryside, the high-spec two-bedroom apartments are an ideal investment vehicle.

Susan Young, sales and marketing director for Harbourside said: “From an investment point of view these properties offer very good opportunities for strong long term returns.”

She said the healthy demand for high quality apartments in Bristol would ensure property values remained high and help guarantee premium rents for investors.

She added: “Investors are finding it difficult to track down projects offering any kind of a return at all at the moment and this is being compounded by inflation figures running at five per cent plus.

“The rental market continues to prove very resilient and is offering investors a long term return for their money at a time when many other investment opportunities are caught in the doldrums left by high inflation and low interest rates.”

With numerous shops, restaurants and bars close by including Bordeaux Quay, Zen and Pizza Express, Beacon House is the last phase in The Crescent.

Combining unusually generous space with a high end specification each apartment is individually designed, with a unique layout and aspect.

The development’s importance was also recognised by Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), the Government’s advisor on architecture, urban space and public space and the Home Builders Federation (HBF) which gave the development a Building for Life gold standard.
