Leading housebuilder Weston Homes is launching its newest development in West Drayton on Saturday November 12th, Fortis, a high specification and luxurious collection of 89 two, three, four and five bedroom houses, set within the large and sustainable Drayton Garden Village scheme.

Situated on the former RAF West Drayton site, Drayton Garden Village is an entirely new neighbourhood in West London, covering 31 acres and an environment surrounded by gardens, green spaces and tree-lined avenues. Fortis also has excellent transport connections across London and will benefit from the new Crossrail scheme, which will provide a quick and direct commute to central London, the Square Mile and Docklands upon completion in 2017.

An innovative Combined Heat and Power (CHP) energy centre is now under construction at Drayton Garden Village. Each home will contain an innovative Heat Interface Unit (HIU) to control heating and hot water, providing substantial benefits to residents in helping to reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint.

Potential buyers will be able to view the show home at Fortis from Saturday November 12th by visiting the Sales & Marketing Suite, which will be open between 10am and 5pm daily.

Bob Weston, Chairman and Chief Executive of Weston Homes, comments: “Fortis is an exciting new neighbourhood in West London providing sustainable homes and creating a new community at Drayton Garden Village, which should appeal to everyone. This development benefits from a vast amount of green space and quick and easy transport links to London and we anticipate that there will be a lot of interest in the homes available at Fortis.”

The RAF West Drayton site was a non-flying Royal Air Force station which served as the main centre for military air traffic control in the UK. The site was active from 1924 until the departure of the remaining civil and military air traffic control systems led to its closure in 2008. The redundant brownfield site was then demolished before building work started on Drayton Garden Village in April 2011.

When complete, Drayton Garden Village will comprise a sustainable community of 773 homes, an 80 bed care home, community facilities and commercial opportunities.

West Drayton is surrounded by beautiful scenery with the Grand Union Canal running its way through the heart of the town and relaxing strolls can be enjoyed at Stockley Country Park and Thorney Country Park, both within a few minutes reach. Stoke Park Country Club boasts a stunning 18 hole golf course, spa, gym, tennis courts and 5-star hotel facilities. Fortis is also near to world class education facilities and one of London’s leading universities, Brunel University, is a 15 minute drive away.

Fortis is only an 18 minute walk away from the town centre, which is home to a wide selection of popular high street and independent shops as well as an excellent choice of international eateries and restaurants. Dedicated shoppers will be able to enjoy retail therapy on a grander scale at The Chimes shopping centre in nearby Uxbridge, which offers a range of famous brands including Debenhams, Gap and HMV, as well as an Odeon cinema.

The houses at Fortis include a choice of oak or walnut veneered doors with polished chrome ironmongery, matching door lining, architraves and skirting. There is also a choice of oak or walnut strip wood flooring to hall, lounge/dining room and kitchen. In addition, there is a broad selection of carpets available for the remaining rooms and Sky + facilities and telephone points have been installed in living rooms and master bedrooms for added convenience.

Luxury bespoke designer kitchens are included and offer a choice of units and worktops, stainless steel oven and integrated appliances including fridge/freezer and washer dyer. The luxurious bathrooms and ensuites are fitted with a ‘Laufen’ wall hung basin with contemporary wall mounted taps as well as a choice of ceramic wall tiles in a range of colours. Each property has allocated parking and private rear gardens.

Fortis is in close proximity to junction 15 of the M25 and the M4 junction 4a and just five miles from Heathrow Airport. West Drayton Rail Station is only a short walk away from Fortis, with direct services to London Paddington in 23 minutes, London Marylebone in 47 minutes and London Kings Cross in 55 minutes, enabling easy access to Central London.
