The regeneration of east Manchester took a major step forward this week as the first 22 homes went on sale at the new Gener8 development.

Housebuilder Lovell will eventually build over 1,000 new homes in Miles Platting, in conjunction with Manchester City Council, building on its solid reputation in the area for high quality, affordable new homes.

A new sales office is now open off Danson Street, where plans can be viewed for the range of two, three and four-bedroom houses. Two three-bedroom show homes have also opened so potential viewers can gain inspiration from seeing fully furnished properties.

The 22-hectare development will eventually include a number of new and refurbished green open spaces, including a new park to run alongside the Rochdale Canal.

Elaine Taylor, sales manager for Lovell (North West), said: “These are exciting times for east Manchester and we’re pleased to be playing our part in the area’s rejuvenation. We are delighted to have launched the first phase of high quality homes, which will suit families and professionals alike in an area with an increasingly strong sense of community.”

Situated within an established residential area, future residents of Gener8 will not only have an exciting new place to call home, they will be within easy reach of a host of local amenities including the newly opened £7.4m Park View Community Primary School, Miles Platting and Ancoats Sure Start Children’s Centre, Victoria Mill and the sports facilities at Eastlands. The extension of the Metrolink tram system will bring fast, frequent trams to the area in 2012.

Two, three and four-bedroom homes in the first release are priced from £105,995 to £164,995.
