Alpine ski firm juggles departures to ensure you don’t miss the party

Alpine specialists Take Me To (Ski) have laid on additional weekday departures over Christmas and the New Year so people won’t have to spend their favourite party occasions travelling.

With both Christmas and New Year straddling the weekend this year, some industry commentators have predicted bookings will drop off as skiers are traditionally unwilling to travel on key dates such as Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

But Gloucester-based Take Me To (Ski) are determined winter sports fans don’t have to miss their big days by offering short breaks and longer holidays departing weekends and weekdays from a range of airports across the UK.

Ski Brand manager Chris Wadley said some holidays were being heavily discounted by ski specialists concerned they could find themselves struggling to fill seats on the key dates.

He said: “It’s no surprise people aren’t keen on travelling on Christmas or New Year’s Eve, so we have ensured they have plenty of choice on Monday to Friday departures.

“We also do Sunday-Sunday to avoid the busy Saturday changeovers but we can also do anything and everything in between. We see flexibility as more important to customers than ever, not just for our UK clients, but for the whole European ski market.”

Take Me To (Ski) have just completed a refurbishment programme at their flagship Hotel Les Grandes Rousses at L’Alpe D’huez in the French Alps and also run a chalet complex at nearby Tignes.
