Reduce your speed with a camera alert system

The Talex GPS-based speed camera alert system, has been reduced by 40 per cent to just £149.99.
Even the most law-abiding and observant drivers are now constantly in danger of falling foul of more than 5,000 fixed speed camera sites, and hundreds of mobile units. And it’s not just the threat of avoidable fines and penalty points on licences. Talex research shows that the additional cost of insurance premiums of just six points could be as much as £400 over five years, making £149.99 a solid investment in safer and lower cost driving.
As well as reducing the price, Talex has enhanced the specification of its latest system. A USB connection means that a mains adapter is no longer necessary, making it faster and easier to download updates on speed camera locations from a PC. The purchase of a Talex system includes six months’ subscription to updates, after which updates cost £29 for 12 months or £59 for three years. The system is further enhanced by the inclusion of a CD containing the download software.
With plug and play operation, the Talex system is quick and easy to install. Voice announcements warn drivers when they are within 500 yards of a speed camera and confirm the speed limit. The system automatically advises the driver to reduce speed if the vehicle is exceeding the speed limit when 200 yards from a camera.
Talex doesn’t just protect your licence. By using clear voice announcements of speed limits, schools and accident black spots, the GPS-based Talex is a real aid to safer driving. The global positioning satellite (GPS) system ensures that there are no false alarms and means that, unlike ‘conventional’ radar and laser detectors, Talex will remain legal even after the proposed Road Safety Bill outlaws such devices.
Talex speed camera alert systems make a great Christmas or birthday gift, and are widely available from selected retailers.
