Nelson Hotels purchases The Fishpool Inn in Delamere
Family-owned, Cheshire-based hotel group Nelson Hotels is going from strength to strength despite a tough market, following the purchase of The Fishpool Inn in Delamere. With big plans to develop the quaint country property to meet the standards of its other three, first-class hotels – The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa near Chester, The Bear’s Paw in Warmingham, and The Pheasant Inn in Higher Burwardsley – Nelson Hotels is gearing up for a major refurbishment of the traditional building early next year, providing a boost to the local area through the creation of additional jobs.
Plans for the forthcoming refurbishment involve investing a staggering £1million to bring The Fishpool Inn up to the same standard as the other Nelson properties, and will see the pub closed in January and February 2012, during which time work will transform the property into a stunning gastropub, replicating the traditional country inn interior. In the meantime, The Fishpool Inn has already benefitted from care and attention, both inside and out, since becoming part of the family owned and run hotel group in July.
To the delight of diners, the picturesque inn boasts the high standard of food the hotel group prides itself upon; with fresh, seasonal, locally sourced produce taking pride of place on the hearty menus, and real ales from local breweries taking centre stage on the bar; the inn also features a well-kept beer garden. With Christmas just around the corner, The Fishpool Inn is also offering a delicious seasonal menu.
Located just two miles from the beautiful Delamere Forest, nine miles from the delights of historic Chester, and close to Beeston Castle for spectacular views across Cheshire countryside; The Fishpool Inn benefits from a charming countryside location steeped in history; yet its situation beside the A54, close to the A49 and A556, offers easy access to both the M6 and M56 motorways. For sports fans, The Fishpool Inn is within easy reach of Oulton Park, one of the most picturesque and best-loved race circuits in the UK; and Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre which boasts a newly constructed British Eventing course designed by Captain Mark Phillips.
