HSBC offers fee-free mortgages in January sale

28th December 2011 Print

HSBC's eighth annual sale has started with no fees to pay on its range of competitive tracker mortgages, including those with a 90% LTV.

Fee-free rates for lifetime trackers start from 2.39% for those with a 40% deposit. The HSBC January sale will run from December 22nd until 31st January 2012.

These new fee-free lifetime tracker rates are available for home purchase and existing homeowners wanting to get a better deal.

Peter Dockar, Head of Mortgages at HSBC, said: "We are committed to supporting both first-time buyers and homemovers and our January sale offer reflects this. Not only will customers be able to take advantage of these products with just a 10% deposit, we are also helping them keep their upfront costs down by removing the fees payable.

"We also appreciate that many people's budgets are squeezed, with the monthly mortgage payment often being their biggest outgoing, so we wanted to make it easy for them to get lower payments by making it free for most people to move to HSBC."

New fee-free lifetime tracker rates launched today include:

1.89% above base rate - current rate payable 2.39% (60% LTV)
1.99% above base rate - current rate payable 2.49% (65% LTV)
2.09% above base rate - current rate payable 2.59% (70% LTV)
2.49% above base rate - current pay rate 2.99% (80% LTV)
3.49% above base rate - current rate payable 3.99% (85% LTV)
4.09% above base rate - current rate payable 4.59% (90% LTV)

Zero fee and fee-free means:

No booking fee
No standard valuation fee
No completion fee

HSBC will cover the cost of one standard valuation where this is required by HSBC as part of the mortgage application.  Additionally, where it is a straight forward transfer from another lender, HSBC also pays the standard legal costs.

To take advantage of the offer applications must be received by 31 January 2012 with homeowners able to apply on-line at hsbc.co.uk as well as by telephone and in branch.
