Jersey Food Festival 2012

Jersey will host its annual food festival from Saturday 19th May to Sunday 27nd May 2012, celebrating the island's unrivalled local food offering.  In its second year, the festival highlights the skill and tradition that lies behind sourcing the local produce for which Jersey is famous, with an emphasis on the unique Jersey Royal potatoes, dairy produce and shellfish.

May is the perfect time of year to visit Jersey, not only to indulge in its exceptional gastronomic credentials, but to experience the beauty of the island itself by taking advantage of the appealing southerly location and climate. 

Boasting a delicious range of tasty treats and experiences, from fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants to the world's finest potatoes fresh from the soil, a visit to the island is a culinary experience in itself. The festival will highlight the seasonality, variety and quality of food on the island and offer a chance to meet the chefs and Genuine Jersey producers as they share their foodie passions.

Jersey is the perfect location to indulge in gastronomic delights steeped in history, tradition and skill spanning centuries.  With the famous Jersey Dairy herds, the remarkable Jersey Royal and the vibrant fishing industry, there is more than meets the eye when it comes to experiencing local Jersey produce.

The festival will culminate in an alfresco food fair, alongside the judging of the Jersey fifth annual Jersey Royal Potato Competition.

Despite its size, the island of Jersey has become a powerhouse of culinary expertise. The island now boasts three Michelin-starred restaurants and a host of local producers supplying fresh ingredients to the industry.
