Forge Motorsport 2012

Forge Motorsport had a hugely successful motorsport season during 2011, and 2012 looks even more exciting for the Gloucestershire-based engineering firm.

Several notable teams and drivers relied on the quality and integrity of Forge’s craftsmanship, combined with not a little prep and driving talent, to carry them to victory in all manner of demanding championships.

Bo Nielsen romped home to a decisive victory in the Club FWD class of the UK Time Attack Championship. His highly modified Astra Coupe boasted all manner of bespoke tricks created by the Forge technicians. Seemingly untouchable all season, Bo is already preparing for the first of the ’12 rounds with even more power and better handling.

Gary Searle’s bright yellow Mitsubishi Evo was also a regular podium resident during the 2011 season, with Searle’s driving skill notching up some seriously impressive times and performances.

As well as backing these two drivers again for the 2012 season, Forge will also be backing Richard O’Dwyer in a R53 Mini Cooper. One to keep an eye on!

The VW Racing Cup saw Steve Chaplin’s distinctive ‘Herbie’ Beetle RSi take a convincing victory, with Joe Fullbrook’s Bora providing some truly impressive results, podiums and fastest laps along the way. Aaron Mason also had a successful season in his Forge-backed Mk 5 Golf.

As well as staying true to its roots, supporting UK Club-level Motorsport, Forge continued to provide the technical excellence behind some of the ‘bigger hitters’ too. The STR BTCC Seat team, fronted by driver Tom Boardman, ran with Forge componentry to score a superb outright victory at Knockhill, and Rally ace Liam Doran also relied on the unburstable reliability of his Citroen C4 to take him to X Games Gold in the USA, beating favourite Marcus Grönholm in the process. Forge will also be working with Liam on another top-secret project for 2012, so watch this space!

Forge also dipped its toe into the event calendar with the launch of its popular and successful Action day at Castle Combe Circuit. The capacity filled event mixed clubs, teams and tuners to great effect, allowing plenty of track time for all, and some of the most impressive demo laps ever seen at the circuit. The venue and event has already been rebooked for Saturday 8th December 2012. One not to miss!

Please visit Forge at the show on stand number 8230 in Hall 8.
