A Cheshire housebuilder has blossomed at the New Homes Gardens Awards, scooping a top award for its family focussed garden.

The Balmoral garden at Hollies Farm, Hartford, won a ‘silver gilt’ award in the category of best garden of a family home at the prestigious awards, which recognise the achievements of house builders, garden designers and landscape architects in shaping the environment.

Just as Redrow’s professional interior designers dressed and decorated the four-bedroom Balmoral to create the impression of a lived in home, so too landscapers from Chester based Landstruction Limited have created the perfect family garden.

The property has now been sold with the beautifully and meticulously planned garden intact.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), commented: “Since the introduction of the New Heritage Collection, we have focussed even more on creating attractive street scenes to appeal to our core family market. Landscaping and individual gardens are such an important part of this, so we are very pleased that our efforts in this area have been rewarded.

“The Balmoral is very much a family home and we briefed the landscape designers to create a garden that could be enjoyed by a family in different ways, at different times of the day and all-year round. They created a space that invites families to spend time together outside, whether relaxing, playing, dining, growing vegetables, picking fruit or watching birds in the bird bath.

“The garden helped attract people into Hollies Farm to view the show home and demonstrated to visitors how their own garden could look It was essential for it to be realistic and to be a functional space, which the orchard and vegetable beds illustrate, as it has become someone’s real family garden,” Anita added.

Redrow also won a silver award for the Best Show Home Garden for its ‘four seasons’ garden at The Bowery in Cheswick, Bristol.

While Hollies Farm has now sold out, Redrow is building homes across the North West and North East Wales including developments at Winsford and Altrincham in Cheshire and others in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Wrexham and Flintshire. Anita added: “At all out developments we’ve enlisted the help of landscape designers to showcase the potential of the gardens and give inspiration to green-fingered homebuyers.”
