VT Software Solutions has secured a £220,000 contract to supply its market-leading Tranman fleet management software to SPANCO, who provide outsourced fleet management services to the Malaysian Government.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, SPANCO operates a fleet of more than 5,000 vehicles for the 39 ministries and government agencies across Malaysia. It provides a wide range of services for the Malaysian Government encompassing procurement of vehicles on pre-determined replacement cycles, billing, fleet fuel card management and vehicle utilisation and management reports, insurance services, driver training, vehicle disposal and accident management. In addition, SPANCO also operates a comprehensive repair and maintenance service at two regional service centres, supported by over 200 accredited service centres throughout Malaysia.

“We needed a sophisticated software system that could provide a comprehensive, seamless service for our customers, and give us a strong basis for bidding for future PFI contracts,” said Tan Fong Liang of SPANCO.

“We evaluated UK and Australian suppliers, including our existing supplier, before focussing on a short list of two. VT Software impressed us by demonstrating a particularly detailed understanding of our needs, and the decision to opt for Tranman was based on the system’s superior capabilities and its potential to meet our future requirements. “

Delivery is agreed for April 2007, with the Tranman software handling SPANCO’s fleet service desk, workshop and stores management, fleet administration, hire and lease management, web portals and job quotations. It will interface to SPANCO’s existing systems and provide a summons portal to link to the Malaysian police force for processing parking fines and speeding tickets.

The Tranman brand is well known and highly respected among fleet operators in the UK and overseas. The software is widely used in local authorities, Ministry of Defence, emergency services, utilities, and large private sector multi-site organisations. VT Software Solutions is part of VT Group, whose customers include government agencies and businesses worldwide.

“We are delighted to have secured this contract,” said Ian Searle, Sales & Marketing Director of VT Software.

“It further underlines the strength of the Tranman offering to public and private sector organisations worldwide, and we look forward to working with SPANCO to help them deliver an ever-stronger service to the Malaysian Government and to bid for future PFI contracts.”
