Are you taking bad breath seriously?

Most of us believe that bad breath isn’t a big deal - just a quick brush of the teeth or popping  a mint or chewing gum in your mouth and the problem will go away. However, bad breath is not just a social problem, it could possibly be a health issue too.

Bad breath is generally caused by smelly Volatile Sulphur Compounds (VSC), such as hydrogen sulphide, that are present when there is gingival inflammation. The VSC in the mouth that cause bad breath have also been shown to soften gums, allowing bacteria to enter into the blood stream and cause gum problems such as gingivitis, also known as gum disease, and periodontitis, the inflammation of the ligaments and bone that support teeth.

As if that wasn’t enough, studies such as that published in the Journal of Peridontology and the American Journal of Cardiology indicate that oral diseases like gingivitis and periodontitis can seriously affect your overall health as they can be linked to conditions such as cardiovascular disease, strokes and diabetes. Researchers believe that bacteria can enter into the blood stream and travel to other parts of the body wreaking havoc wherever it may go.

Dental practitioners are also encouraging patients to be aware of this issue, dental expert Dr Jacob Krikor comments: "Many studies have shown that there is a link between poor oral hygiene and peoples' overall health. I advise my patients to use RetarDEX as the range is extremely effective in eliminating the bacteria and Volatile Sulphur Compounds that cause bad breath and which can lead to more serious oral conditions such as gum disease and tooth decay.”

So how can you prevent this happening? The answer is to simply improve your oral care regime with products such as RetarDEX Toothpaste and RetarDEX Oral Rinse. The range’s patented ingredient is clinically proven to break down VSC thus eliminating bad breath and helping to prevent gum disease and tooth decay when included as part of an oral hygiene regime. The toothpaste is also non-foaming, which allows you to brush for longer before rinsing, ensuring your mouth is thoroughly clean from all harmful bacteria and tooth eroding agents. What’s more, the Oral Rinse is alcohol free and is available flavourless with a mint sachet so you can decide how minty you’d like it to be.

So for an oral care regime that really works, choose RetarDEX. By keeping bad breath at bay, you could be helping to protect your overall health.
